Vimeo – The Canadian Rockies – A Perfect Day In Nature

from Plus 11 months ago not yet rated

A fun short filmed in the breathtaking Canadian Rockies. The film includes footage of wildlife and various places of interest visitors come to see.

Things I’ve learned while filming this short:
1.
Use *only* a high-quality Vari or single ND filter on long lenses to get sharper images. Thanks Preston and Steve.
2.
A viewfinder on the LCD screen helps a lot in a bright daylight – and makes a HUGE difference to have it permanently clipped ON catching wildlife footage as you go.
3.
Get into a habit of using an external mic WITH a wind muff for capturing better ambient sounds.
4.
Need to work more on faster and more accurate focusing technique – especially outdoors with fassssst wildlife.
5.
Patience and more practice.
6.
Be better prepared for mosquitoes while taking macro footage.
7.
Time flies while wearing rubber boots and filming for hours in a cold mountain stream : ).
