There are so many wonderful benefits to meditation, but we are often too busy to take the time to make meditation a regular part of our lives. However, to not take time to quiet your mind is to not take time for you. There is nothing better for peace of mind, lowering your stress levels and maintaining mental clarity than having a regular meditation practice.

A meditation practice can be done in many different ways and you need to find out what method of meditation works best for you. There are more active meditations as well as meditations where you simply allow your spirit to go out of your body completely and everything in between.

It is always a good idea to experiment with different types of meditation before you decide what method, or mixture of methods, will work for you. There is transcendental meditation, yoga, meditative walking, guided meditation, group meditation, and many other options available.

No matter what type of meditation you do, there are three important steps to remember.

  1. Protect
  2. Focus
  3. Breathe

All meditations need to start with a prayer for protection, so that your meditation practice will not be interrupted on a spiritual, mental, emotional or physical level. You can say something as simple as “I am going to begin meditation; I ask that all energy in this space be clear, as to only allow for my highest good.”

This step of protection also includes turning off or removing yourself from any distractions, including cell phones, televisions and any other background noises that can cause interference with the peace of mind your are cultivating.

The next step is to focus, even if your focus is nothingness. You can use a guided meditation, focus on your spirit guide or even focus on something more physical like walking or gardening.

As you become one with your breathe, this is usually when the Higher Self part of you will come through and when you can get moments of inspiration or even go on a dream-like visualization.

The more often that you do it, the longer you will be able to go. But, anyone can start by just finding 15 minutes a day. The morning is a great time for this as it will allow you to set your intentions for the day if you like. Or, if you are a nighttime person, it is a great way to cleanse your mind and energy after a long day’s work.

Meditation is great for learning how to quiet your mind, release stress in your life, or to help with visualization of a specific goal. I have seen many people lower their blood pressure, alleviate insomnia and improve their state of mind all by taking time to meditate.

Remember, you are the most important person in your life. If you are too stressed out to help others, then you are letting your time get away from you. By taking time to meditate, you will find that after a while, your whole world has slowed to a manageable pace and you will be able to accomplish so much more without all of the stress.

People often ask, “What is the best way to move into a higher state of vibration?” The simplest answer is to take ownership of your personal power, how you use it, where you give energy to and how you facilitate your emotional state.

One of the most common ways in which power is given away is through fear. Whenever you fear something happening/not happening you are in fact giving energy and power to the very outcome you do not wish for. It is extremely challenging to be the master over your fear, as humanity has been taught for eons to listen to it.

Fear comes from the Ego telling you that it does not feel in control of a given situation. That situation could be health, money, relationships, government, etc. Look at the areas of your life where you feel fear and anxiety. Ask yourself, why do I feel fear when it comes to my family, but not for my health? Or, why do I feel fear when it comes to my money, but not my relationships? Your answer, while you may think it is mere logic, is rooted in your past life history, and what you as a soul have personally experienced before.

Learn how to safely dive deep into your fear, so that you can dig it out. Imagine like it is hidden pockets of dust inside of you. You are made of light energy, the light energy is a natural cleaner of the dust. But just like dusting the house, you have to pick up and look underneath items, clean behind the bookshelves, and under the bed, in order to get it all cleaned up.

Much is the same with fear. It can hide behind a certain emotion, or experience, and lurk within your inner child. Explore these places and spaces within you, or work with an expert who can safely assist you with that exploration. The more fear your transform, the less likely you are to give your power to it. The more of your power your own, the more your energy grows.

There are other ways in which you can give your energy away. Another common way is through anger. Anger and passion are often confused. Anger comes from an intention of destruction; rage, revenge and so forth. Passion comes from a strong feeling to positively change a situation. Anger is: “This person, or that situation, pisses me off.” Passion is: “I need to change the energy with this person or that situation.”

The words you blurt out in a time of reaction, will tell you if you are operating from a place of anger, or a place of passion. Often anger hides deep within the subconscious, and fools us into thinking it is passion. Learn to understand the words you say, or the words you think in your mind. They speak volumes as to whether you are intending passion or anger. Anger only leads to more anger. Passion leads to change. We have lived in a world built upon anger and fear, the only way to change that is to first change it within yourself.

So, how do you own your energy and own your power? Learn detachment. Detachment is about remaining peaceful NO MATTER WHAT is happening. When you are in peace about something, your intuition can speak clearly through you, and advise you when it is time to act. If you are not at a feeling of peace, it is much easier for the voices of anger or fear to influence you.

Detachment is not ignorance. Detachment is about giving over to intuition completely. There will be many things popping up in the headlines designed to upset you and incite fear, or anger, or sadness. However, if you remain in detachment, you will be able to view the events as a movie. This allows your intuition to remain pure, so that you are not spurred to act by another person’s seed of anger/fear energy. This is vitally important. Owning your energy and your power, means that you do not allow the words, deeds and actions of another to move your emotional state in any direction! This is not about being numb, it is about managing your own emotional state.

Whenever you feel yourself feeling anger, fear, sadness, doubt, shame or any other similar emotion, all you need to do is to ask for it to be transformed in the highest energy. Here is a simple process that you can use:

  1. State aloud or in your mind: “I ask that only the Highest Energies of the Light surround me, offering me protection, clearing, healing and guidance.”
  2. Take a few breaths at a relaxed pace. You want to feel your body and mind begin to slow down.
  3. Visualize yourself surrounded by a golden-pink light. This is the blending of the Divine Spirit and Gaia (Mother Earth). Continue to breathe at a relaxed pace.
  4. Now visualize that beautiful energy entering each cell of your body, see your cells opening up to allow the energy in.
  5. Now see your solar plexus (stomach region) open a release valve. This release valve only works in one direction, to funnel out of the body the emotions you are releasing.
  6. Now see this valve release the emotions like a fountain, in one big powerful stream of energy. You can say “Whoosh, they are gone.” Or “I release you now” or any simple phrase that comes to mind. This is a rapid energetic blast from the body, and the energy of your emotions is immediately transformed into Light and Love energy upon release.
  7. Now the release valve closes.
  8. The golden pink light continues to pour into each cell, filling in the space vacated by the emotion you just released.
  9. Say “Thank you,” and trust that transformation has been done.

Each time you do this, you are going in and uncovering those hidden places where the dust hides, and doing some deep cleaning. If you discover that you are having difficulty with a reoccurring emotion, or challenge, then it would be a good idea to work with someone who can help you with the release process. Often those pieces of emotion, are stuck to past life memories and emotional control patterns needing to be explored and removed in entirely.

You have the power to choose in any moment, what you are going to give your energy to. Are you going to give to fear, or are you going to give to peace?

The recent eclipse is the harbinger of great and profound change on Earth. But, that change begins within each and every soul first. Collectively, change will not be facilitated without first looking within and creating change in one’s own life. In the process of Ascension (raising one’s vibration), there is a moment where each individual comes face-to-face with the aspects that have been hiding within their deep subconscious memories.

It is not easy to confront these aspects and to look at them honestly, for they originate in past life experiences, and those can be challenging to assess in an impartial manner. When you are living your life now, you have blinders on when it comes to how you view yourself from a past life perspective. Humanity tends to judge things in an all-or-nothing classification, without taking the time to genuinely look at all pieces of one’s emotions and behaviors.

My channel is often asked the question, “What can I do to progress spiritually?” Her answer is, “Work at understanding yourself on a deeper and deeper level.” For, the answer to that question is ongoing, because as you identify and release one past life, another one is there to examine and release, layer upon layer. And, even when you get to the very core of the energy, there is still the Ego (Self) part of you to contend with. This is the part connected to every living being, a part that while once was an asset, now has become like a friend who keeps giving you bad (although well-intended) advice.

Learn to understand your own Ego, what messages does it say to you over-and-over again in your head? Does it put specific expectations on you or what you can do in life? Does it bring emotions into your communications and interactions? Does it keep you trapped in fear? Does it worry about the day-to-day process of life? Because the Ego is attached to the Earth plane (and yes it will continue to be here after Ascension), it is best to learn to about all of its tactics and messages.

The Ego comes from a place of meaning well, but it is basing its conclusions on not repeating the hurts from your past lives. By learning how to keep your own Ego in check, you can arrive at a place where you have mastered how to neutralize its force. This is an ongoing task, because as long as you are living on Earth, the Ego will be present. It will change and evolve, but it will be present as long as you are experiencing the incarnation process. The Ego is a part of the Earthly existence, no different to your physical body. It is the reason why you have chosen to learn in the Earth School versus another plane of learning elsewhere.

The Ego dwells in the extremes; extreme reactions, extreme emotions, extreme highs and lows. It is the Ego that will use terms like “Always” and “Never.” Saying things such as, “I never get help,” or “You always do this to me.” The Ego is not only prideful and self-important, but also fearful and self-defeating. The Ego takes a piece of information, event, occurrence, or situation and gives it an emotional context. The Ego has to convince others of its viewpoint, and sometimes even will try to convince you. Whenever you have to qualify your answer to someone else or to yourself, it is the Ego that is compelled to do so. You neutralize the Ego by learning about the tactics your individual Ego displays.

The more that you learn about your own Ego, the more control you have to keep it from interfering in your life, and the easier it is to move into your Higher Self. That is the ultimate goal of the incarnation process, to overcome the strength of the Ego in such a way that you are able to transform the energy from all previous lifetimes, able to gain completion of what you came to Earth to learn. Every time there is an eclipse, it is there to reveal something that the Ego had tried to keep hidden. There is always something new to learn about yourself, always a new piece of information to discover. The moment you decide you are finished with your learning, is the moment the Ego can exert its influence over you even more. Use these big Astrological events to dive deeper into the recesses of your Ego. When you are honest with this Ego exploration process, you can propel yourself forward on your life path with greater momentum than you could have ever anticipated.
