Every day, there is a risk of being exposed to neurotoxins
that are harmful to the brain.
Fortunately, there are many ways to protect the brain
from neurotoxin-induced damage.

While the brain and consciousness are inextricably linked, groundbreaking research into the nature of consciousness is revealing that their relationship is much different than had previously been assumed and confirming what spiritual teachers have been telling us for ages: that we are simply awareness having an experience in physical form, of which the brain is intricately involved in facilitating.
This is because consciousness, which encompasses the mind itself, is in fact a non-local field of energy, [Jahn, Radin, Stapp, Targ,1,2,3,4,5] which means that the brain is simply an organ which interfaces the mind with physical reality. To draw an analogy, it is a translator of physical sensation and other experiential phenomenon from the body to the mind and from mind to the body.
The brain allows consciousness and the mind to control and move through the body, but they both exist as an energetic field independently of the brain, which is why scientists have never been able to trace consciousness to any specific part of the brain or even to the brain itself. Because the eyes tend to be the focal point of our awareness, it seems as though we are perceiving reality through the brain, which then leads to the incorrect assumption that awareness is a product of the brain, when in truth it simply moves through the brain
However, the brain is still an incredibly important organ in the manifestation of consciousness in physical form, so much so, that if it is not functioning optimally, it will distort the experience of consciousness and the mind considerably. If our brain is undernourished, nutrient deficient, stressed out or in chaotic brainwave patterns, our experience of consciousness in physical form (otherwise known as personal reality) will be diminished, which means that we’ll tend to experience more stress, depression, anxiety, fear, frustration, mental cloudiness and undesirable mental and emotional states with a noticeable diminishment of higher, intuitive-transpersonal mental functioning. In other words, a shutting down of our higher intuitive abilities and spiritual awareness.
On the other hand, if our brain is well nourished, relaxed and the two hemispheres are operating in sync and harmony, our experience of reality will be exponentially improved. This is the basis of consciousness hacking—by bringing our brain into greater harmony, health and balance, we can expand our consciousness. We’ll find ourselves experiencing more inspiration, more creativity, clearer intuition and thinking, deeper peace, happiness, joy and an abundance of other positive emotional states. And while there are certainly many factors that influence the health and functioning of our brain, and hence our expression of consciousness, including our our diet and nutrition, our deeper psychodynamics and our level of accumulated toxicity from environmental pollutants, among quite a few other things, in this article, I’d like to focus in on one specific aspect that is relatively easy (and pleasurable) to control and has a very significant positive impact on your experience of reality as far as all these things go. And that’s your dominant brainwave state.
The human brain is an exquisitely sensitive instrument. It registers the slightest nuance of any experience you have ever had. This is no more evident than in love. Imagine someone whispering, “I love you.” In romantic terms these are desirable words – probably the most desirable any of us will ever hear. The brain responds to ‘I love you” with an orchestration of positive reactions. People who are in love feel less stressed; their blood pressure goes down. When a couple who enjoys a long-term loving marriage hold hands, even their response to physical pain is strengthened.
These points and others in the same vein were detailed in a recent New York Times opinion piece called “The Brain on Love” by writer-poet Diane Ackerman. We found it an empathic article, one that celebrates human bonding from the first moment a newborn baby imprints on its mother. Bonding takes place via complex brain mechanisms that follow us throughout our lives. The sense of oneness that characterizes a strong mother-child relationship morphs over time. It persists among happily married adults and gives such pleasure, as well as a sense of security, that our brains seek “at-one-ness” the way an addict seeks cocaine. Ackerman is quick to point out that love isn’t exactly the same as cocaine use, but her argument involves the same receptors for morphine-like chemicals in the brain as well as an impressive description of hormonal responses and other neurological particulars.
Yet the basic premise of the article is problematic. She doesn’t crudely claim that your brain is in love and therefore you are, too. (We suppose that’s why the article is titled “The Brain on Love’ rather than “The Brain in Love”). But at bottom it’s still the standard materialist argument, bolstered by tons of data from neuroimaging, which fails to separate brain from mind. When a person experiences love, the brain registers and expresses that experience through electrical and chemical reactions, the way a radio playing music registers and plays every note that Mozart wrote. But the brain isn’t in love any more than the radio is enjoying music.
We have reached such a subtle state of brain research that the materialist fallacy gets trampled by thousands of brain scans “proving” that the brain registers love in so many ways. But the notion that the brain’s pleasure centers are the source of loving feelings isn’t necessarily true. These centers are used to register and experience love. This is different from saying they generate love on their own. Ackerman is careful to point out that the brain’s pain centers are also vulnerable when we fall in love; the pain of being rejected triggers the same brain response as actual physical pain. Here is precisely where the argument for the brain in love – or on love – begins to fall apart.
If you stimulate a mouse’s brain with a pleasurable experience, such as giving it food, the mouse will return again and again to get more stimuli. This is a predictable, mechanical reaction. The same isn’t remotely true for humans. Put a tempting bowl of pasta in front of a person, and it is entirely unpredictable what the response will be. The person may say such things as “I don’t like pasta,” I’m on a diet,” “I don’t like how this dish is made,” or give no reason at all for pushing the plate away. We are perverse, if viewed as higher mammals. We make choices that have nothing to do with how the brain is programmed. We make decisions that are new, creative, surprising, and utterly unconditioned. Unfortunately for materialism, machines follow preset instructions; the brain doesn’t. Its reactions are part of a feedback loop that is ultimately controlled by the mind.
Go back to the words “I love you.” Despite all the mother-child bonding in the world, and contrary to how the brain is “wired” – a favorite materialist term – these words, like a bowl of pasta, will lead to totally unpredictable responses. We test whether they are sincere, for example. Maybe “I love you” is a seducer’s ploy or a meaningless ritual. Maybe we’re not in the mood for love or want to think the matter over before responding. Machines don’t take time out to consider, reflect, doubt, introspect, and so on. People do. The reason that it’s crucial to know that the mind isn’t the brain goes back to freedom of choice and our deep humanity. Attempts to turn us into brain puppets sacrifice far too much; indeed, they sacrifice what makes us human in the first place.
The great Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore has a famous quote: “Love is the only reality and it is not a mere sentiment. It is the ultimate truth that lies at the heart of creation.” In an age of functional MRIs, the phrase “mere sentiment” needs changing to “mere mechanism.” It would be a shame if the whole issue of love became the province of brain researchers telling the rest of us all the things we didn’t know about ourselves. The more that materialism takes over, even benignly as Ackerman states it, the more we lose sight of very important things:
- Brain research doesn’t really explain experience.
- Facts and data are simplifications of experience.
- Only self-knowledge knows about matters of the self.
- Brain responses are merely physical correlates, the way that piano keys correlate to what a musician is doing. Pianos don’t perform music, and the brain doesn’t have experiences.
- A perfect map of brain activity down to the level of single neurons says nothing about how the mind works.
- None of the above is contradicted just because the brain can influence our behavior. Stuck piano keys can ruin a musical performance; that means nothing about the nature of music.
I know that this sounds fishy. We do not imply with these argument that the entire field of neuroscience is riddled with errors, and naturally any reader would feel highly skeptical about such a claim. If the brain isn’t the mind, let philosophers argue the point. The rest of us will be achieving better lives through brain research. Really? In the case of physical disorders like epilepsy and brain tumors this may be so (but note the current exposure of antidepressants as being little better than placebos, which contradicts decades of claims by brain researchers and Big Pharma, claims that turn out to be half-truths at best). The blanket assumption that you are your brain has done very little good in areas like relationships, which is what love comes down to for Ackerman. When she says that couples who run into problems may want to get therapy in order to rewire their brains’ bonding mechanisms, the statement is bizarrely Orwellian and out of touch with how things work in the real world.
It is undeniable that we are all caught in the gap between using the brain and having it use us. When the brain is imprinted through mechanical means (genes, habit, repeated experiences, trauma, strong memories, and conditioning), those imprints do become a kind of “wiring” that affects our behavior. But these mechanical influences don’t define our behavior; still less do they define us. Materialists put the cart before the horse. Looking at the feedback loops in the brain, they mistake complicated circuitry for decisions that are being made in the mind. Your brain may light up when you eat chocolate, but that doesn’t mean the brain wants to light up again, so it orders you to grab a Hershey bar.
Your brain may generate the desire for chocolate based on the memory of pleasure it gave you in the past. But, you still make the choice to grab a candy bar, not your brain. A well-imprinted infant with a loving mother may indeed go through life trying to repeat such primal pleasure (Freud said the same thing by understanding human nature; he didn’t need an MRI). But in the multidimensional world of the mind, love is mixed in with a lifetime’s worth of experiences.
Let’s say you are well loved but it’s 1942, you are French, and the wartime resistance has asked you to go underground to fight the Nazis. Your decision will be based on all kinds of factors: conscience, patriotism, risk, danger, politics, history, and more. The fact that you were imprinted by a loving mother enters the equation, but so what? Many a resistance fighter left behind a loving wife and children. Nothing could be further from a mouse seeking to increase its stimulated pleasure centers, or even balancing pleasure centers with pain centers. To reduce the choices we make in life to brain functions disregards the complexity of human existence, which is mental in nature. Lying behind the benignness of “helpful” brain findings is an implicit degrading of the human spirit. Materialism is insulting to our spirit, and when new findings about the brain emerge, as they do every day, to explain why you do what you do, feel what you feel, and want what you want, please take it all with a huge grain of salt. For a lover of music, it’s not necessary to know the inner workings of a grand piano; far better to study Mozart and the meaning of beauty. The bottom line is that our brains allow us to register and express feelings like love and benevolence through electrochemical activation of specific brain regions and neurochemicals. But, we are also imbued with the ability to choose how we wish to deal with those feelings. Mindfully making choices transcends the simple stimulus-response automations of our neural networks and truly defines who we are.
There is no doubt that brain research is one of the most exciting frontiers in medicine, and our knowledge doubles every few years. The problem isn’t about the data but about overstepping and making too may claims about what the data are telling us about ourselves.
By now, pretty much all of us know and accept that meditation provides a plethora of benefits, including reduced tension and stress and improved focus and concentration. However, how and why meditation does this has long remained unknown—until now!
Harvard University scientists have published the results of an 8-week study that used magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to examine the effects of meditation on the brain. Participants in the study practiced forms of mindfulness meditation every day for approximately 30 minutes. Mindfulness is a meditation style that emphasizes maintaining an objective awareness of sensations, feelings and states of mind.
MRIs were taken at the beginning and end of the 8-week study. From the results, researchers determined that meditation literally rebuilds the brain’s gray matter in just 8 weeks—making this the very first study to document that meditation produces this kind of change over time. The changes observed in the meditators were not seen in the control group, signifying that they had not come about naturally over time, but rather that the daily act of meditating had produced them.
We know what you’re thinking: what is this mysterious gray matter that meditation is rebuilding? Gray matter is a major component of the central nervous system, and is found in areas of the brain involved in muscle control, seeing and hearing, memory, emotions, speech, decision-making and self-control.
Research on the brain has shown that the amount and density of gray matter differs from individual to individual, and can determine or signify certain traits or talents. For example, scientists have found that professional musicians have denser gray matter in the area of the brain involved with processing music.
The Harvard study found that meditation can increase the density of the gray matter in the hippocampus, specifically. According to the Harvard Gazette, the hippocampus is, “known to be important for learning and memory, and in structures associated with self-awareness, compassion, and introspection.”
Participants also reported reductions in stress after the 8 weeks, which makes sense, as over the course of the study, the gray-matter density in the amygdala—which is known to play an important role in stress and anxiety—decreased.
This study is groundbreaking and empowering in that it shows that we have the power to change the structure of our own brains: to improve our memory and learning capacities, and to become more compassionate and self-aware.
Britta Holzel, first author of the study, summarized its incredible findings: “It is fascinating to see the brain’s plasticity and that, by practicing meditation, we can play an active role in changing the brain and can increase our well-being and quality of life.”

I SEE I am inside the symbol Vesica~ Piscis; it is huge the size of a planet yet I can feel its presence all around me
I SEE light that is neither bright nor dim but it simply exists; it is the size of a house or even bigger. This light as a get closer is a multifaceted diamond pure and colourless
I SEE each facet as having a lightning type strike coming outwards, difficult to describe; this is brilliant shimmering white I appearance
I SEE up above the loops circling around themselves of the symbol; as I concentrate it is pure mercury coloured with hints of gold in the middle of the loop. But I am looking into the distance so these hints of gold could be miles across, so vast and huge are these symbols
I SEE myself looking back into this diamond and start walking towards it; I am a distance away but soon come closer then before
I SEE that the diamond is hovering above the ground and soon realise that this was the centre of the Vesica~ Piscis symbol. This was the heart of its energy
I SEE myself almost next to it; its brilliance is soothing to the eye yet it is awe inspiring
I SEE myself looking within and through the brilliance to the middle of the diamond; to my surprise I could see a white heart
I SEE it beating slowly with a regular beat and from each beat
I SEE a pure white liquid seep out from its heart; this soon disappears into the diamond. I am not sure what this was, but I kept looking inside to see
I SEE the heart in its beat sends a pulse of energy, a vibration to the diamond; as I concentrate further
I SEE each vibration is a multicoloured light and this happens in a split second
I SEE the wave change colours each time when its spreads to the diamond
I SEE the diamond opening and soon it is all around me; I realise that I was looking at a smaller version of the diamond and I was actually around another diamond, completely encased within
This much larger diamond had white brilliant walls inside and it was shimmering like light bulbs going on and off
I SEE that I was still looking at the brilliant diamond with its white heart surrounded by a much larger diamond all around me, but still inside the Vesica Piscis
I SEE everything all around me shrink in size; the larger diamond and its walls got smaller and smaller
I SEE myself getting worried that I may get squashed; I look all around me and wonder what is happening
I SEE everything all around me keep on getting smaller and smaller and I watch and wonder
I SEE the scene changing and I am looking at the outer diamond surround the brilliant heart diamond and shrink to the size of a football
I SEE also the Vesica Piscis also shrink to just surround the diamond
I SEE the symbol the size of my outstretched hands and I come closer to it
In my amazement it shrinks even further and it slowly moves closer to wrap around my face and head
I SEE myself wearing the symbol and the diamond was my third eye
I SEE everything fading away and I had finished

~ * In this reflection upon the perfection of Creation that YOU are Dearest ONE,
You SEE yourself at the CORE of The Vesica Piscis,
The Basic Seed of LIFE, expanding into Flower of LIFE and Fruit of LIFE and TREE of LIFE,
You find Your~SELF in the Cosmic Womb of LIFE, the Womb of The Presence of your BE~ingness,
from which the Creator~LIGHT radiates and shines upon your Hue’MAN Self in this dimension ~
this is exquisitely imbued within the divine aspect of the soul;
The Vesica Piscis is a shape that is the intersection of two circles with the same radius,
intersecting in such a way that the centre of each circle lies on the perimeter of the other.
The name literally means the almond shaped “bladder of a fish” in Latin.
Vesica Piscis is the symbol of INTEGRATION of all that is SEPARATED / DIVIDED in Consciousness
as well as Gender based, fear based, soul~separating Duality Experience in the Hue’MAN dimension ~
The Separation is only in the version of Dual~Stances,
and yet The CORE / Centre / Neutrality is always at~ONE with all @Once ~
~ * Expanding the VESICA PISCIS EXPRESSION in relation to your BE~COME~ing / Triality of LIFE:
THE FIRST RAY OF DIVINE WILL AND POWER is primarily a MENTAL RAY, ONE CIRCLE of the VESICA PISCIS,
which is embodied within the FATHER~ness of GOD at the Universal level. This GIVER~Ray also carries the energies /attributes of truth, valour, dynamic power, singleness of purpose, and clear vision. It is an outward-focused Ray and the most powerful of the three God Rays of our Universe as they are radiated into our Sub-Universe, as The GIVER. (LEFT BRAIN Hemisphere – MASCULINE CHRIST CONSCIOUSNESS)
THE RECEPTIVE DIVINE GOD MOTHER~ness at the Universal level bears the Second Ray of Love / Wisdom.
It is primarily an EMOTIONAL RAY, The Second CIRCLE of the VESICA PISCIS which brings forth the loving energy
to ignite the Seed Thoughts from the mind of the Divine Father in order for the Divine Blueprint to be manifested in the material planes of Creation. The main focus of this Ray, as it is projected into our Sub-Universal Great Central Sun,
is to turn knowledge into wisdom and temper that wisdom with love and compassion. (RIGHT BRAIN Hemisphere – FEMININE CHRIST CONSCIOUSNESS)
The droplet, eyelet, diamond, ellipse at the core of mergence of TWO CIRCLES, forming VESICA PISCIS is The MERGER / INTEGRATED CHILD / THIRD RAY – THE SON / DAUGHTER RAY which is the DIVINE CHRIST~ALL Consciousness each ONE has to birth within themselves, contains equal proportions of Mental and Emotional attributes,
and it speaks the Third LANGUAGE of UNIVERSALITY ~
It is the Ray of active Divine intelligence, which includes the desire to use the Will of FATHER~ness of God Consciousness and the Love/Wisdom of MOTHER~ness of God Consciousness to become efficient co~creators in the material planes of existence / forms, which instill a deep, inner desire to be peace and thusly express balance and harmony within the lower-dimensional experiences.
Dear ONE…… your being at the CORE of the Versica Piscis shows WHO YOU are becoming ~
~~~> The THIRD RAY of LIGHT (PURPLE Flame), the INTEGRATED CHILD CONSCIOUSNESS of the NEW RADIANCE of LIGHT, in this Mergence of Your DUAL Aspects of Expression through dimensions of Forms you exist and are present and participating ~
~ * Coming further down to a localized experience of this VISION at your Physical Level,
the diamond / Octa hedron body landed on your 3rd eye and ‘shrinks’ (contracted & concentrated) there,
pointing to the PINEAL OPENING, and your Highest Activation, as a Hue’MAN Expression
from your INTUITIVE INSIGHTFUL CONSICOUSNESS ~
There is the Two separated hemispheres of The Brain experiencing split,
and hence lack of co~ordination between hemispheres, which when merged using INFINITY SYMBOL,
It opens up the PINEAL GLAND which is the SEAT of Your SOUL in SIGHT of all that is, with COMPASSION ~
Here your lesson is to SPARE your COMPASSION unto your Hue’MAN Self in experience in the duality,
Yet The REAL & TRUE YOU looking to SEE all your Hue’MAN Self is through as a WITNESS, with COMPASSION ~
YOU are here Dear ONE, to use LIFE as your DIVINE~TOOL, to create and re-create Your~Hue’MAN~Self anew ~
Rewiring and activating the new template YOU create for YOU to enter unto ~
~ * The Heart of the Vesica Piscis is the GOLDEN CHILD YOU ARE who is created anew
by the dual aspects of your dense selves in opposition, for eons ~
The DIAMOND is the Chariot of LIGHT / Merkabah you are RESIDING in the best version of YOU who is ONE with The ALL,
This is the Light~BODY you are entering into and integrating your Hue’MAN Self unto, so as to be from this ONE~ness,
While in the BODY Temple ~ The Octahedron Light Body assigned to YOU by your SOUL ~
It is noteworthy that your attention is to be upon the truth hat when you hear the word HEART,
it is not your organ Heart, Or that shape the Hue’MAN collective draws as Heart,
but it means the CORE / CENTRE of all existence which is also CORE of each atom,
and sub particles of Consciousness ~
The CORE of ALL is the mergence of The CORE of all of its expressions
and hence there are hearts within hearts, Diamond within Diamonds within Diamonds,
and yet YOU………..as the CORE~YOU,
is your Unique DIAMOND from within which YOU experience all other CORES,
Take note Dear ONE, that within our Diamond Core God Cell we have a Crystalline Seed Atom,
this contains the Vesica Piscis Mandela.
Our Father/ Mother God reside in the Great Central Sun of this universe,
and a facet of their Essence also resides within our Sacred Heart Centre.
~ * Let this be your revelation Dear ONE, through this VISION unto your HEART, that GOD is within YOU,
in every visible and invisible part of YOU ~
You may now trans~FORM your mentality / mental attitudes and Projections with GOD PARTICLE LIGHT,
So that YOU be~COME………..with~GOD~Consciousness
at all levels of YOU & thusly in your expressions you anchor here on Earth ~
And so I SEE ~ And so it is ~~
Debbie West, Contributor, Waking Times, http://www.wakingtimes.com/2014/03/22/brain-create-consciousness/
In a recent interview on Waking Times aired on The People’s Voice Network, Dr. Eben Alexander, Harvard Neurosurgeon presents compelling scientific research in the field of consciousness that examines the unfolding reality that the brain does NOT create consciousness. Misleading concepts that focus on reductive materialism have kept us in the dark about the true nature of the human soul and its integral part in our evolution as spiritual beings.
“The old paradigm of birth to death represents an outdated concept that is woefully inadequate in defining the unfolding reality of expanded awareness,” he stated in the interview with Waking Times. “Materialist science is at the end of its days as most scientists are changing their views. The old concepts are soon to be relegated to the same dust bin as ‘the earth is flat’ as we develop a more mature understanding and transcend old beliefs.”
Supported by worldwide research that is now delving into the concepts of string theory that involves a complete reworking of our outdated and limited views of space/time means that we are now entering a phase where science will greatly expand its boundaries. The foundation of the research begins with the clear understanding of the “Soul”, or conscious spirit, that exists outside of the body and is eternal.
“Consciousness is at the core to unfolding all of reality”, states Alexander.
The brain operates the body based on input from the personality, but the higher intelligence, or subconscious, is the mechanism that controls the body, and that is the soul that we have yet to acknowledge or even begin to understand. That is the free will component that exists long after the body stops. Near-death, paranormal, mysticism, past life memories, and akashic records are now a common thread that drives home the conclusion that there exists a soul within the human body that transcends the human experience. As we acknowledge the essence of our soul, we let go of the limitations of the illusional earth-based mentality and reach out to the greater cosmos of life. Many additional realms exist beyond the earth and in other dimensions of time/space. As spiritual beings, we can easily access these places.
Edgar Cayce, the father of holistic medicine, pioneered the concept in modern times that we are indeed “spiritual beings having a human experience”, but this is only a reemergence of what our ancestors already knew.
This time on earth will be one where we all transcend the false boundaries that convince us that we are separate entities and develop the understanding of the oneness that we all share, meaning that we don’t have to be either scientific or spiritual. Merging science and spirituality creates a new foundation for our peaceful coexistence in the greater cosmos.
Neurotheology 5 – This lecture in neurotheology focuses on spiritual teachings about the body by neuroscientist Todd Murphy. Starting with an hypothesis (only an hypothesis; there is no evidence as yet) about Kundalini and how it projects our states of consciounsess into our bodies, it also looks at the neural basis for Subtle bodies. There is also a brief discussion of Chi and Yoga. This talk is given by Todd Murphy, inventor of the 8 Coil Shakti (similar to the Persinger God Helmet) and the Shiva Neural stimulation system.
